Alexandra Villas are a terrace of four cottages built in 1910 from local Carrstone. Many period features are preserved including original fireplaces, floors and pantry complete with meat safe. The comforts of modern living are also provided including full gas central heating and a newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly with gravelled, off road parking available to the front and access to the rear via Southgate Lane. Walks from the cottage include Snettisham Park, the old water mill and the disused King’s Lynn to Hunstanton railway line. With the beach less than two miles away, Alexandra Villa is the perfect place to spend a holiday close to the sea, whatever the weather.
Sitting Room
The bright, airy hall leads to a cosy sitting room with a sunny bay window and original, working fireplace. Fuel is available locally to warm up those cold winter evenings so you can snuggle up on the comfy settees in front of a real fire. There is a TV and DVD player with a small selection of DVD’s available including the BBC’s Countryfile program which featured the attractions of the North West Norfolk coast.
Dining Room
An eight seater oak dining table made by Beccles yacht builder, Mark Elliot, is the focal point of the dining room. Perfect for a dinner party if you fancy a night in, or spreading out the Sunday papers. There is another working fire where you can keep the teapot warm! The original pantry is still intact and provides ample storage for beach gear, groceries and wine as well as the Hoover. The visitor’s book, house notes, local information, books and games can be found in the Welsh dresser. The room is also equipped with CD player, radio and TV.
Kitchen
The recently installed kitchen is compact and has everything you could need including dishwasher, range cooker, fridge freezer and microwave. The crockery, cutlery and cookware are of a high quality and the usual kitchen gadgets are provided. Everything for a picnic on the beach is available including hamper. The floor is still the original Norfolk pamments. Beyond the kitchen is the boot room with washing machine and drying facilities plus the bathroom including over bath shower.
Bedrooms
There are three bedrooms, all bright and spacious with two having original fireplaces however they are not in use! The floorboards are exposed with bedside rugs to keep your feet warm. The master bedroom has king-size bed, an original fitted wardrobe and dressing table. The two twin bedded rooms are provided with ample storage and seating. The White Company cotton bed linen is professionally laundered with hypo-allergenic products and bath and hand towels are provided.
Outside
The back garden is fully enclosed making it child and dog proof. A back gate leads into Southgate Lane providing a shortcut to the village, access to the bins plus additional parking if required. The gravelled patio provides a sunny spot with table and chairs and deck chairs available during the summer season. Dog not included!
